Yo! offer hundreds of events this October half-term

Wolverhampton’s Yo! October half-term programme gets underway on Monday (24 October), offering hundreds of activities and events for the city’s children and young people and their families during the school holidays.

The activities, many of which are free and include food, consist of sports, holiday camps, fun days out, dance and drama workshops, arts and crafts and more. Full details are available at www.yowolves.co.uk.

Highlights include athletics and multi sports with WV Active, wild art workshops at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery, curling, dodgeball and yoga with the YMCA, breakdancing at Gazebo Theatre and robotics and drones with the School of Coding.

Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said: “Following the great success of Yo! summer, where more youngsters than ever joined in our school holiday programme, we’re thrilled to be offering the city’s children and young people some brilliant activities organised by a host of fantastic local organisations this October half-term.

“We recognise at the moment that too many people – many from working families – are suffering real financial hardship and struggling to make ends meet. That’s why providing a comprehensive offer during the school holidays, through Yo! Wolves, has never been so important to families.

“So we are delighted that, by once again working with city partners and with funding from the council’s youth engagement strategy, #YES, we can deliver another fun-packed programme including food, ensuring that opportunities are available and accessible in every area of Wolverhampton.”
