Yo! Christmas offers 100s of activities for young people
Wolverhampton’s Yo! Christmas programme is officially launched today (Friday 2 December, 2022), offering hundreds of activities and events for the city’s children and young people and their families during the festive holidays.
The activities, many of which are free and include food, include sport, arts and crafts, fun days out, and dance and drama workshops, get underway from Monday 19 December, 2022. Full details are available at www.yowolves.co.uk.
Highlights include wildlife photography at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, den building with Inpower Wrestling, martial arts with Wolverhampton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, animals and SEN Play at HugglePets, music and stage skills with WV10 Consortium, Street Dance with Revolution Dance and football and games with Aspire and Reach.
Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Following the great success of Yo! Wolves this year, which has seen more youngsters than ever before joining our school holiday programmes, we’re thrilled to be offering the city’s children and young people some brilliant activities organised by a host of fantastic local organisations over the Christmas break.
“We recognise that too many people – many from working families – are suffering real financial hardship and struggling to make ends meet at the moment. That’s why providing a comprehensive offer during the school holidays, through Yo! Wolves, has never been so important to us.
“So we are delighted that, by once again working with city partners and with funding from the council and the Department for Education, we can deliver another fun-packed programme, including food, which will ensure that opportunities are available and accessible in every area of Wolverhampton.
“There’s a lot going on, so please take a look and get involved in the Yo! Christmas activities.”
