Still time to nominate your Young Citizen of the Year

Residents are being encouraged to nominate inspiring young people for the 2026 Wolverhampton Young Citizen of the Year awards before the deadline on Sunday, 31 May.

Now in their 13th year, the awards recognise young people between the ages of 13 and 25 who have gone the extra mile to support others and make a positive difference in their communities from fundraising to acts of kindness.

Run by the Rotary clubs of Wolverhampton, the awards will celebrate finalists at a special ceremony in September, with winners chosen across two age categories.

Anyone can nominate a young person who lives, studies or works in Wolverhampton, and organisers are hoping to see plenty of fantastic entries again this year. Leader of the City of Wolverhampton Council, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “Wolverhampton is home to so many dedicated and inspiring young people who make a real difference every day. These awards are an opportunity to recognise their achievements and celebrate their positive impact, and I would urge everyone to submit a nomination before the deadline.”
