Children and young people who have missed one of their school-aged vaccinations are invited to get it at a special catch-up clinic taking place this weekend.
It will be held on Saturday (11 July, 2026) at Whitmore Reans Family Hub, Lansdowne Road, Wolverhampton from 9am-1pm, and is open to all pupils who have missed a vaccination in school, and for children who are home educated. The following vaccinations will be available:
the Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (DTP) vaccine, also known as the three-in-one teenage booster for children in Year 9 and above. This booster is the last routine dose that provides young people with long-lasting protection into adulthood
the Meningococcal (Men ACWY) vaccination for children in Year 9 and above which helps protect young people against four types of meningococcal disease which can cause both meningitis and septicaemia
the HPV vaccine for children in year 8 which helps protect against cancers caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV)
and the MMR vaccination for children in Year 1 and above which provides long-lasting protection against measles, mumps and rubella.
Appointments must be booked in advance by contacting Vaccination UK on 01902 200077.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: “These vaccines offer the best protection for teenagers as they start their journey into adulthood and start mixing more widely – whether that's going to college, starting work, travelling or going to festivals.
“So, if your child has missed out on a vaccination, maybe because they were off school or are home educated, please come along to the catch-up clinic being delivered by Vaccination UK this weekend.”
