Finchfield Library reopens after £19,000 makeover

Finchfield Library is open to customers once more following a £19,000 makeover.

The work to the popular council-run facility included redecoration work throughout, while the interior layout was reconfigured to create more space, with the old counter replaced with a smaller, modern reception desk.

Computer workstations and shelving have also been repositioned to meet accessibility requirements and create additional space.

Councillor Harman Banger, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "While in other parts of the country libraries may be closing, we are continuing to invest in what we believe are very important community assets.

"We have 16 libraries across the city and, over the last couple of years, we have made significant improvements to the branches in East Park, Penn and Whitmore Reans. We are now pleased to have completed the transformation of Finchfield Library."

He added: "The response from customers to the improvements we have introduced at the other libraries has been very positive, creating a warm and welcoming environment for visitors young and old, and I am sure customers at Finchfield will be equally pleased with the transformation of their library.”
