Preparing for ICT Mark - Creating a 21st Century Learning Environment Using Technology

This series of courses is designed to support your school’s journey towards a transformed teaching and learning experience, with a view to achieving ICT  Mark accreditation.                                     

 

We will discuss vision, strategic thinking and planning, change management, innovative

use of technology and the ICT Mark accreditation process.

Course name: Online Safety: Youth Produced Sexual Imagery

Whilst the use of technology can offer a wealth of positive experiences there is always the potential for risk. This course is designed to address the issues commonly known as youth produced sexual images (nude selfies and sexting.)

 

We will discuss the trends, possible motivations for doing this, a school’s role in educating young people (and associated resources) and practical steps to address issues if they arise.

Course name: Getting the Most out of iPads in Your Classroom

 


This series of courses will help you realise the potential of the iPad in your classroom.

 

During the sessions you will gain ideas that will enable you to use iPads in the classroom more effectively.

 

The session will focus on native apps such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Garage Band and iMovie. As well as looking at other integrated standard features on the device to create interesting and engaging lessons.

Course name: Learning to Programme with KS1 and KS2

Programming is an increasingly prominent skill, providing millions of employment opportunities worldwide.

 

This course aims to provide attendees with the confidence to teach coding effectively to Primary aged learners. You will be given resources to take away as well as having the opportunity to program using a range of software and apps.

Course name: Using Video Games to Motivate and Inspire English

Using video games across the English curriculum can have a huge impact on quality of work, enthusiasm and imagination of young people.

 

This lively and interactive course will help develop lesson ideas and provide opportunities to engage with video games as a way to raise standards in English.

Course name: Online Safety: Technological Impact on Mental Well-being

 


The proliferation of social media, whilst allowing instant communication and sharing, can have a negative effect on young people’s mental health and well-being.

 

This course will explore current trends, issues and thinking around this topic and offer suggestions and resources for schools to be able to support their young people to develop online resilience and coping strategies.

Course name: Using Technology to Enhance and Support Literacy in EYFS

 

This course aims to explore how technology can be used to support and enhance early Literacy skills within the Foundation Stage.

 

Attendees will be given the opportunity to explore apps and software, whilst discussing potential planning opportunities.

 

Giving staff teaching strategies to take away alongside the potential to develop resources for home learning.
