Wolverhampton’s Local Offer website has been relaunched, showcasing the help and support available to children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) in Wolverhampton.
The "Local Offer" brings together in one place a wealth of information about education, health and social care provision for the 7,400 children and young people aged 0-25 in Wolverhampton who have special educational needs or a disability.
The Local Offer website, available at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/localoffer, has sections devoted to advice and support; care; childcare; education; Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCs); health; leisure services; travel; and moving into adult life.
Councillor Lynne Moran, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: “The Local Offer website is a one-stop shop, bringing together a wide range of information about the support available in Wolverhampton and the surrounding area for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.
“It includes details of services and support provided by not only the council and health providers, but also by voluntary and community groups and private sector organisations, and will help people make informed choices about their education, health, care and transition to adulthood.
"I would encourage parents, carers and professionals to visit the Local Offer website to find out about the help and support which is available to them, and also encourage them to share feedback with us about the website so that we can ensure that it is as helpful and easy to use as possible."
