FREE training - Attachment, Trauma & Resilience Training

April 16, 2018

Date: 24th April 2018

This is training for Designated Teachers for Looked after Children (LAC), SENCO and/or other key school staff with a responsibility for LAC / vulnerable pupils, in attachment, trauma and promoting resilience in school.

The session covers:

1. An introduction to attachment theory and the effects of early trauma and neglect, particularly on young people’s readiness to learn and ability to thrive in school.

2. A range of appropriate strategies to support pupils with these difficulties within the school setting.

The session will be interactive so delegates are encouraged to come with examples, issues or questions in mind that they would like to discuss. The facilitators will make every effort to include these as part of the session if appropriate.

The session on 24 April covers knowledge and skills that can be used with pupils at all stages of statutory school. The sessions are open to mainstream and special schools, as well as PRUs and alternative education providers.
