School Awarded Prestigious Games Mark

July 20, 2017

Springdale Junior School in Upper Penn have been awarded a Bronze School Games Mark. The Mark rewards schools for their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education.

Pupils take part in a range of sports like Football, Athletics, Tri-Golf, Judo, Rounders and Hockey. The success and diversity of the sports program mean 37% of children now participate in extracurricular activities each week.

Teacher Stacey Thompson said “We have been inclusive and extended to include B teams to increase participation levels. Our Upper School Resource Base attended the Mini Smile event at Wolverhampton University. We’ve also had great successes in football and cross country this year.”

Despite the success the school refuse to rest on their laurels. Miss Thompson concluded, “We aim to achieve Gold next year!”
