Warstones Library has a range of activities including an Adult Reading Group, displays by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Wolverhampton's Health Trainers and other organisations and a Teddy Bear's Picnic for children including storytelling, singing and dancing – visitors are asked to bring along their own picnic and cuddly toy.

There will also be children’s story times at East Park, Spring Vale and Wednesfield libraries at 11am and Bilston Library at noon.

Kathy Williams will be holding drop-in craft sessions at Finchfield Library from 11am-noon and 2-3pm and there will be poetry readings and book signings with local artist and poet Louise Henley at Tettenhall library.

Councillor Elias Mattu, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Adults, said: "We're celebrating National Libraries Day with a wide range of activities for all the family, and best of all they are all free.

“This is a great opportunity to find out more about what's on offer at your local library – and if you are not already a member, sign up and join the thousands of people who enjoy using their local library every week."
