Two pupils from Tettenhall Wood took part in a Government funded centenary tour of the battlefield sites in Belgium and France. In September 2015 they spent 3 nights/4 days visiting: Menin Gate, Thiepval, Tyne Cot, Ulster Memorial, Flanders Fields Museum and The Battle of the Somme sites.
The focus of their trip revolved around locating the memorial of a WW1 solider Horace Robotham, who played for Wolverhampton Wanderers. They located his name at Thiepval Memorial.
On Saturday 7th November the boys presented their findings at the Wolves 'v' Burnley match where a short report featured in the match day programme.
Every school in the country is entitled to take part in this fully funded project.
Tettenhall Wood are seeking other schools in Wolverhampton to take part in the trip next year. If you are interested and would like further details e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
